Davidson County Cooperative Extension will be taking orders for greenery as a fundraiser to support youth who want to attend an out-of-state Agriculture and Industry Tour next summer. Items available include various size wreaths, garland, and kissing balls. Wreaths are freshly made by a small family owned and operated Christmas Tree Farm in Alleghany County. A fresh wreath that is cared for properly will be a joy to its owners for a month or more. It is not only beautiful, but its fragrance is amazing!evergreen wreaths

The standard door size wreaths are available in Fraser Fir, Boxwood, or a Triple Mix (Fraser Fir, Boxwood, and White Pine). Also available are large Fraser Fir wreaths, large Boxwood wreaths, a square wreath, and undecorated Kissing Balls in Fraser Fir or Boxwood. If you are interested in garland, White Pine garland can be purchased in lengths of 25, 50 or 75 feet.

The wreaths are handmade and are fresh when you pick them up. Pre-ordered wreaths will be available for pick-up on Wednesday, December 6 at the Davidson County Cooperative Extension Office (301 E. Center Street, Lexington) from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. For questions or to order, contact the Davidson County Cooperative Extension Office at 336-242-2082. You can also order online.  (Please note:  payment MUST be received to complete the placement of your order.)  The cost of the Fraser Fir wreath is $20, and the cost of the Boxwood wreath is $25. Call for pricing on the specialty items. All orders, along with payment must be received by Monday, November 27.

The Agriculture and Industry Tour will encompass four states (North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois) and various aspects of agriculture (crops, equine, sheep, dairy cattle, hogs, beef cattle, and equipment). The tour is open to youth (ages 10 and up) and adults. It is important that youth and adults have a connection, understand concepts, and become more aware of agriculture, not only in their state, but on a broader scale as well. Please help support Davidson County Cooperative Extension youth who will be attending this tour by purchasing a beautiful wreath or greenery.
