Cloverbud Workshop

Does your kid love to do experiments? Currituck County 4-H is hosting a Cloverbud Weird Science series for youth ages 5–7 years old. These workshops will be held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center located at 120 Community Way, Barco, NC. Each workshop will be hands-on with a variety of learning experiences. You can register for one or all workshops as long as there is space. All participants must be enrolled in 4HOnline.

Pumpkin Science Workshop will be held on October 23, 2019, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 2 p.m. This workshop for youth ages 5–7 years old. Activities include a field trip to a local pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating and cooking with pumpkin. All participants will take home their decorated pumpkin and pumpkin bread. Participants should bring a bag lunch. Space is limited. Registration deadline is October 16 please reserve your child’s spot through Eventbrite at cloverbudpumpkinscience19

This workshop has been cancelled.  Sweet Science Workshop will be held on November 27, 2019, starting at 9 a.m. and finishing at 2 p.m. This fun and interactive workshop allows youth to explore the world of chemistry. The kitchen will be the lab and the “chemicals” are basic kitchen pantry items. Youth will create and observe the chemical and physical reactions that occur in our everyday world. Magnetic slime, geysers, and candy experiments are all on the menu for the day. Participants will need to wear closed-toe shoes and  bring a bag lunch. The registration fee is $12.00 and space is limited so register early. Registration deadline is November 20 please reserve your child’s spot through Eventbrite at cloverbudsweetscience19

Holiday Science Fun Workshop will be held on December 20, 2019, starting at 1:30 and ending at 6 p.m. due to the early release day. During this fun-filled and festive workshop youth will make ornaments, bake Christmas cookies and conduct several Holiday-themed science experiments like growing Christmas crystals and making chemical snow for a personalized snow globe. Each child will make and take home an ornament. There is a $12.00 registration fee for this workshop. Space is limited so reserve your child’s spot by December 13 so you do not miss out on the fun. Please register online using the Eventbrite links above for the class(es) you wish to attend. Also, note that each class has its own registration link. Payment for these classes will only be taken online using a credit card through Eventbrite. No in-person registration or payments will be accepted for this class, as we are implementing a new registration system. For help completing your online registration, please feel free to call us at 252-232-2262, and we will walk you through the new registration and payment system. You will also need to make sure you have registered your child in 4HOnline for this calendar year.
