Respirator Fit Testing – 2020 Requirements

— Written By respirator fit test

In an effort to reduce the risk associated with COVID-19, the NC Agromedicine Institute has canceled the respirator fit test event scheduled for April 3, 2020, at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Davidson County Center. This is one of six events across the state to be canceled as a result of COVID-19. The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Pesticide Section is aware of this situation. To address this, an exception is in place to allow pesticide applicators that were fit tested in 2019 and approved, to use a respirator in 2020 without 2020 testing. However, individuals that were not tested in 2019 must be tested prior to using respiratory protection.

If you need to be fit tested in order to use pesticides with respirator requirements specified on the product label, you will need to schedule an appointment with a local fit test provider. An extensive list of respirator fit test service providers can be found at the following website.
