Qualified Individual Training Animal Food Safety Course Now available in Spanish and Chinese

In early 2020, NC State Extension Feed Milling launched a new online training course for animal food safety: Qualified Individual Animal Food Safety Course

Now, we’re very excited to announce that the course has been translated into Spanish and Chinese! This project is part of NC State Extension Feed Milling’s commitment to providing accessible materials to the widest range of learners possible.

Celebrating Our Graduate Students

We are deeply grateful to the NC State University Feed Milling graduate students who made it possible for us to offer this course in Spanish and Chinese. Andrea Rubio (Spanish) and Sharon Chuah (Chinese) volunteered their time to translate the course materials and consult on transitioning the course for Spanish- and Chinese-language learners.

Without their expertise and time, we would not be able to offer this course to Spanish- and Chinese-language learners.

Gracias Andrea!
谢谢你, 蔡欣盈 (萨伦), Sharon!

About the Course

The Qualified Individual Training for Animal Food Safety course is intended for anyone who must comply with CFR 507.4: Qualifications of individuals who manufacture, process, pack, or hold animal food.

The course is free and should be used to supplement facility-specific training. The course is self-paced and takes approximately 45-60 minutes to complete.

This training represents current NC State University suggestions on how to best comply with CGMP and qualified individual requirements.

We encourage management to read and become familiar with the applicable rules in order to make the best decisions for their facility.

NOTE: This course is not the Preventive Controls for Animal Food course for becoming a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual. For information on required training for FSMA compliance, please visit FSMA: Training Requirements.

If you have any questions about the content of the course, or the Food Safety Modernization Act Preventive Controls for Animal Food rule, please contact Marissa Herchler Cohen.
