The Davidson County Beekeeping Association will be offering learning events in January – March of 2025.

NC Beekeeping Association Journeyman Class

January 11th 8:00 a.m. – 5: 00 p.m.

The Davidson County Beekeeping Association present a training class for beekeepers interested in the NCBA Journeyman Certification. Advance training on topics including: Honey and Wax, Honey bee Biology, Honey bee Diseases and Viruses, Honey Bee Plants, and Pesticides Seasonal Management.

Basic Beekeeping Information Sessions

January 18th or 25th 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

These are free Beekeeping Orientation Classes. Find out what it takes to begin beekeeping. For those interested, they can follow through by taking the Beginner Beekeeping Certification Class.

Beginner Beekeepers Certification Class 2025

Weekly on Saturday from February 1st – March 8th, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Davidson County Beekeepers Association is hosting a series for Beginner Beekeepers. The class will cost $50. It is recommended to purchase the book  “First Lessons in Beekeeping”. The class includes the option to take the Basic Beekeeper Certification exam. Topics include:  Intro to Beekeeping and History, Getting Started and Hive Components, Installing Bees, Managing Bees, Honeybee Organization, Bee Races and Products, Bee Anatomy, Bee Diseases and Maladies, Integrated Pest Management, Protective Equipment, Feeding Bees, Extraction and Labeling.
